Dumping and Littering

Dumping and Littering

The Town of Innisfil works hard to keep our parks and beaches clean and safe for everyone. Our Littering By-law does not allow littering or dumping on public or private property.

When everyone does their part, we can keep Innisfil clean and green!

Garbage collection

Garbage collection services are provided by the County of Simcoe. Visit the County's website to:

  1. Find your garbage collection day and sign up for waste alerts that could impact your regular collection
  2. Find the closest waste drop-off site and hours of operation
  3. Find a retailer that sells extra garbage bag tags
  4. Learn how to sort your waste properly

Bulky item pickup

Don't have a truck but need to get rid of large items? Call the County of Simcoe at 1-800-263-3199 to book a Bulky Item Pick Up. The cost is $60 for every five items.

Put waste in its place

Innisfil is a waterfront community. When garbage is not thrown away properly, it can end up in our lakes and waterways.

Garbage bins are available in many parks and open spaces. If a bin is full or not available, please take your garbage home.

Dumping garbage on roads and in open spaces leads to thousands of dollars in additional clean-up efforts each year. This is money that could be spent on playgrounds, park improvements, and other community projects.

Report illegal dumping

If you see illegal dumping or littering anywhere in Innisfil, please report it to our Customer Service team at inquiry@innisfil.ca or 705-436-3710. Municipal Law Enforcement Officers will investigate each report.

Dumping or littering is a chargeable offence. If convicted, they may be fined up to $2,000 for each offence under the Provincial Offences Act.
