Properties in Innisfil with unpaid property taxes for three years may become subject to a tax sale under the Municipal Act. The process begins when the Town registers a Tax Arrears Certificate on the property's title. The property owner then has one year to pay the full amount owing. If the balance remains unpaid, the property may be sold by public tender to recover the outstanding tax debt.
