Elections Ontario maintains the voters list for provincial, municipal, and school board elections. Starting August 17, 2026, eligible voters can confirm, update or add their information by visiting Town Hall during regular business hours. Residents can also visit an Election Service Centre to be added to the voters list. 

Register online 

Online Voter Registration will be available from Monday, August 17 to Saturday, October 24 at 3:00 p.m. Residents can use the online tool to check if they are on the voters list, register to vote, or update personal information such as their name, address, date of birth, or school board support.

How to vote

Voting in the 2026 municipal and school board election will be easy and convenient for Innisfil residents and property owners. You can cast your ballot:

• Online using a computer, tablet, or smartphone with internet access, or
• By phone using a touch-tone telephone through a toll-free number

In October 2026, eligible voters will receive a Voter Information Letter by mail. This letter will include your secure PIN and important details such as your name, address, and school board support. Please review the information carefully. If anything is incorrect, the letter will explain who to contact for help.

Your Voter Information Letter will also include:

• the website address for online voting
• the toll-free phone number for telephone voting
• instructions on how to vote

Before you can access the voting system, you will be asked to confirm certain personal information to verify your identity.

Voting period

The voting period runs from October 16, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. to October 26, 2026 at 8:00 p.m.

During that time, you can vote for:

• Mayor
• Deputy Mayor
• Councillor for your ward
• School Board Trustee

If your internet or phone connection is interrupted while voting, you can log back in or call again and continue where you left off.

If you need help voting, do not have access to a device, internet, or a telephone, or need a Voter Information Letter, you can visit an Election Service Centre for support. 

Election Service Centres

Election Service Centres are available if you need a place to vote online or get help during the election. At these locations, you can use an iPad or other tablet device to cast your vote. Library locations will have computers available. Staff will also be available to help with election services, including adding eligible electors to the Voters List and printing Voter Information Letters.

Election Service Centres will be open during the voting period (October 16 - October 26) during regular business hours at the following locations:

• Town Hall, 2101 Innisfil Beach Road | 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (Open on Election Day until 8:00 p.m.)
• Innisfil ideaLAB & Library - Cookstown Branch, 20 Church Street (Open on Election Day until 8:00 p.m.)
• Innisfil ideaLAB & Library - Lakeshore Branch, 967 Innisfil Beach Road (Open on Election Day until 8:00 p.m.)
• Innisfil ideaLAB & Library - Stroud Branch, 7883 Yonge Street (Voting only, not open on Election Day)

If you need to be added to the Voters List, you must bring acceptable identification showing your identity and residence. Please review the list of acceptable forms of voter identification before visiting an Election Service Centre.  

Your school support designation ensures that your taxes go toward the correct school board and allows you to vote for the appropriate School Board Trustee. If you missed the June 1 deadline, you can still update your designation by contacting The deadline to update your school support designation with MPAC was June 1 so information could be provided to Elections Ontario. 

After June 1, you can still update your designation by contacting MPAC’s Customer Contact Centre or online via MPAC's AboutMyProperty or tenant portal. After submitting your update, you’ll receive an email confirmation from MPAC. Share this confirmation with the Town of Innisfil so your information can be updated on our final voters list!

To be eligible to vote in Innisfil’s municipal election, you must be:

• A Canadian citizen
• At least 18 years old 
• A resident, owner or tenant of land in the Town of Innisfil or the spouse of such tenant or owner
• Not prohibited from voting under any law

You may only vote once in the Town of Innisfil municipal election, regardless of how many properties you own or rent within the town.
