The non-refundable marriage licence fee is $155, payable by cash or debit at the time of your appointment.

Each person getting married must present two original pieces of government-issued identification and one piece must include a photo. Examples of acceptable ID include:

• Birth Certificate (including any change of name certificates)
• Passport
• Driver’s Licence
• Ontario Photo Card
• Canadian Citizenship Card or Certificate
• Record of Immigrant Landing
• Permanent Resident Card

Marriage licences are valid for 90 days from the date of issue. Marriage licences can be used anywhere in Ontario.

Divorces in Canada

If either applicant has been divorced, you need to bring official proof of the divorce with you when you apply for a marriage licence. This can be the original or a court-certified copy of one of 3 documents:

• the final decree
• the final judgment
• a certificate of divorce

You can get a certified copy from the court that issued the divorce. We return these documents to you immediately. Court Orders will not be accepted.

Divorces outside of Canada

If you were divorced outside of Canada, you need to provide specific documents to prove that you are no longer married. These documents must be validated by the Government of Ontario and may take up to 4 weeks to process.

• Civil Marriage Ceremony at Town Hall: $350.00 +HST
• Civil Marriage Ceremony off-site: $400.00 +HST
• Rehearsal: $85.00 +HST
• Renewal of Vows: $108.00 +HST
• Travel outside of Innisfil (max 100 km roundtrip): $69.00 +HST
• Witnesses: $30.00 +HST each

Additional facility fees may apply to bookings held outside of typical Town office hours of Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
