Services at the Innisfil ideaLAB & Library

The Innisfil ideaLAB & Library hosts a variety of social service providers to connect community members with in-person resources.

A Human Services Navigator is available at the Library's Lakeshore Branch to support individuals experiencing challenges such as homelessness or precarious housing, food insecurity, poverty, unemployment, mental health crisis, or addiction. Drop in to get information, support, direct referrals, and advocacy:

  • Tuesdays, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Wednesdays, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Thursdays, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

You can also call 705-726-2503 Ext. 918 to schedule an appointment outside these hours.

Agilec 

Agilec offers employment and career services to Innisfil residents including job searching, employment workshops, Employment Ontario services, career transition services, exam administration and supervision, and vocational rehabilitation support and services. For more information, contact 705-431-2255. 

Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) Simcoe County

The Canadian Mental Health Association’s (CMHA) Simcoe County branch offers a range of mental health and addictions programs at the Rizzardo Health and Wellness Centre, including addictions services, youth services, case management, Increasing Access to Structured Psychotherapy (IASP), and walk-in services. For more information, contact 705-726-5033 Ext. 810. 

C4Kids Year Round (Community for Kids) 

C4Kids is a registered charity in Innisfil that supports children, youth and families by providing food and gifts for Christmas, birthday gifts, hygiene products for high school students, backpacks and supplies for students, and warm winter clothing. CONTACT Community Services

CONTACT Community Services provides housing assistance and resources, including support with utilities and rental arrears, rent deposits, rent supplements, applying for subsidized housing, landlord/tenant mediation, and more.

CONTACT’s Housing Access Worker is available to provide information and services at the Innisfil ideaLAB & Library’s Lakeshore (Alcona) Branch on Tuesdays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and the Cookstown Branch every second Thursday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Innisfil Food Bank and Clothing Depot 

The Innisfil Food Bank is operated by the Innisfil Community Church and offers emergency food free of charge. Residents can access the food bank by calling 705-436-1611.  

The Innisfil Community Church also runs a free clothing depot. Residents can register online to attend a free shopping night once a month. For more information, contact clothing@innisfilchurch.com or 705-436-1611 Ext. 209.  

Ontario Telemedicine Network (through the Canadian Mental Health Association)
 

The Ontario Telemedicine Network (OTN) helps to eliminate unnecessary travel and improve access to service for clients by bringing physicians and other healthcare professionals to the client through videoconferencing. This service is available at the Rizzardo Health and Wellness Centre and free for all Ontario residents. You do not need to be a client of CMHA to receive this service.

Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre Outpatient Clinics

Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre offers a variety of outpatient clinics at the Rizzardo Health and Wellness Centre, including Preschool Speech-Language Pathology, Preschool Occupational Therapy, Preschool Autism Spectrum Disorder Diagnostic Clinic, Infant Hearing Screening and several cardiorespiratory outpatient clinics including Pulmonary Function Test (PFT), Electrocardiogram (ECG), and Holter monitor. 

S.H.I.F.T. Outreach and Housing Services

Support and Hope for Individuals and Families Today (S.H.I.F.T.) offers an outreach program focused on the prevention of homelessness. They connect individuals, couples, and families to urgently needed supplies, services, and supports, and provide emergency assistance to those at-risk of experiencing homelessness or food insecurity.

S.H.I.F.T.'s Outreach Workers visit various locations in Innisfil on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. To connect with an Outreach Worker, call 705-890-8173 or email outreach@shiftforgood.ca.

Troy Scott Community Fridges

There are three Troy Scott Community Fridges in Innisfil that offer food and hygiene products. The locations are available 24/7:

  • Outside the Innisfil Recreational Complex
  • Outside the Innisfil ideaLAB & Library Cookstown and Lakeshore Branches

YMCA Immigrant Services

YMCA Immigrant Services ensures eligible newcomers to Canada receive appropriate English language training and settlement services including assessment of needs, orientation, information and referral, and labour market information to feel welcomed in the community and to participate socially, culturally, and economically.

YMCA Immigrant Services are available at the Innisfil ideaLAB & Library’s Lakeshore (Alcona) Branch on Thursdays by appointment. Call 705-817-9291 to make an appointment. 

YouthCALL

YouthCALL is the front door to mental health and wellbeing services for local youth aged 12 to 25. Whether you're seeking mental health support, career guidance, referrals to community resources, or just looking to connect with like-minded peers, YouthCALL is here to help!

Drop in and see the Youth Outreach Coordinator at the Library's Lakeshore Branch on Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
