The Plan reviews the overall operation of Innisfil Fire and Rescue Services, assessing current resources against existing and future needs.
It was developed using recognized best practices, industry standards, and relevant legislation as guiding principles. It also includes consultation with fire personnel and Town staff, as well as a detailed analysis of response data, risk trends, and service demand projections.

- Public fire safety education: Focuses on preventing fires before they happen through sustained outreach and programs
- Fire safety standards and enforcement: Ensures buildings meet code through inspections and corrective action
- Emergency response: Relies on well-trained, well-equipped firefighters and appropriate station placement to deliver timely, effective incident response
