Innisfil, ON – The Town of Innisfil is hosting Tank Talk to help homeowners with private septic systems better understand, maintain, and protect one of the most important systems on their property. The free drop-in information night will take place on Monday, August 10, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Innisfil Town Hall.
The event will feature information booths and an educational presentation by the Ontario Onsite Wastewater Association beginning at 6 p.m., offering practical advice on:
- Septic system maintenance
- How septic systems work
- Common homeowner mistakes
- Warning signs of potential problems
- Best practices to help extend the life of a septic system
Residents are encouraged to drop in throughout the evening to connect with septic industry vendors and service providers, ask staff questions, and learn more about the Town’s septic permit system and septic reinspection program.
"Regular septic maintenance can help homeowners avoid costly repairs while protecting groundwater and the local environment," says Barrie Vickers, Chief Building Official. "Tank Talk is an opportunity for residents to hear directly from industry experts and leave with practical information they can put to use."
