Accessibility Advisory Committee

The Innisfil Accessibility Advisory Committee is a legislated committee appointed by Council to assist Council in improving opportunities for persons with disabilities by promoting the implementation of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act in the Town of Innisfil.

About the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act

The Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) is a law passed by the Ontario legislature that allows the government to develop specific standards of accessibility and enforce them. The standards are made into laws called regulations, and they provide the details to help meet the goal of the AODA.

Supporting the 2SLGBTQ+ community

The Town of Innisfil is committed to supporting the Two-Spirit, lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, gender diverse, and queer (2SLGBTQ+) community. Every year, the Mayor proclaims Pride Month and Fierté Simcoe Pride Month to celebrate the diversity of gender and sexual identities, and to promote safe communities within Simcoe County.

Supporting racialized community members

Every year, the Mayor proclaims February as Black History Month. A time to engage, learn, and celebrate Black history in Innisfil and across Canada! We’re grateful to our community partners for their leadership and for sharing their experience and knowledge.
