Special Event Application

A Special Event Application must be submitted to receive a Special Event Permit if you are hosting an event in the Town of Innisfil.

A Special Event Permit is required for any event that may include the following:

  • Event is open to the public
  • Event where alcohol is served
  • Event where a By-Law Exemption (road closures, noise exemption, parking exemption or burn permit) is required

Please note a $100 special event fee (By-Law 057-24) will be applied to your permit upon application approval.

Event on Town Property Application

Application forms must be submitted at least 90 days before the requested event date to be considered. Once information is submitted, it will be reviewed to determine whether it meets the requirements to receive a Special Event Permit.

The Corporation of the Town of Innisfil must be listed as an additional insured.

Tents must be fire-rated. Anything larger than 10x10 requires a building permit. 
Please ensure you have arranged a food preparation inspection with the health unit.

A Special Event Permit is not required for events held on private property. However, other aspects of the event may require permits or inspections. Let us know what you are doing, and we can guide you through which applications are necessary.

Approval is at the discretion of the Town of Innisfil. Special events are not considered approved until you receive your Special Event Permit. The length of the approval process depends on the specifics of your event. Additional documents will be requested upon review of the Special Event Application.

Organizers are reminded that all municipal, provincial and national by-laws and laws are in effect and organizers are responsible for adhering to such by-laws/laws.
