Whereas the Royal Canadian Legion has served as a cornerstone of support for veterans, military families, and the broader community across Canada since its incorporation on July 17, 1926; and

Whereas the Royal Canadian Legion, Innisfil Branch 547, has proudly served the Town of Innisfil since 1953, preserving the legacy and sacrifices of those who have served, advocating for the well-being of veterans and their families, and fostering a strong sense of community through charitable work, local events, and the ongoing support of residents; and

Whereas 2026 marks the 100th anniversary of the Royal Canadian Legion, representing a century of dedication, remembrance, and community engagement, and the Town of Innisfil encourages all residents to honour this milestone and reflect on the contributions of veterans past and present.

Now Therefore, I, Mayor Lynn Dollin, on behalf of the Corporation, hereby proclaim July 17, 2026, as Royal Canadian Legion Centennial Day in the Town of Innisfil.
