Whereas the Town of Innisfil highly values every individual and emphasizes the importance of equality, dignity, and freedom. We welcome all to live, work and play within the community and believe that every family, regardless of its composition, deserves a place to call home where they are safe, happy, and supported by friends and neighbours; and

Whereas June is recognized in Canada and internationally as Pride Month, a time to honour diversity, champion inclusion, and celebrate the meaningful contributions of the 2SLGBTQI+ community to the social, cultural, and economic vitality of our society; and

Whereas Pride Month provides an opportunity to acknowledge the courage, resilience, and advocacy of 2SLGBTQI+ individuals, recognizing the progress achieved while also serving as a reminder of the ongoing responsibility to challenge discrimination, foster equality, and promote awareness and education to protect and advance the rights, dignity, and well-being of 2SLGBTQI+ people in our community and beyond;

Now Therefore, I, Mayor Lynn Dollin, on behalf of the Town of Innisfil, do hereby proclaim the month of June 2026 to be Pride Month in the Town of Innisfil.
