Innisfil, ON – The Town of Innisfil celebrated the grand opening of Jackson Park on June 18, welcoming residents to a vibrant new community space at 751 Lockhart Road. Named in honour of former Mayor Brian Jackson, Innisfil’s longest-serving mayor from 1998 to 2010, the park recognizes his lasting contributions to the community and legacy of public service. Residents enjoyed family-friendly activities, refreshments, and more.

Jackson Park is an eight-acre, year-round recreational space designed to support active living and community connection. Amenities include a playground, outdoor fitness equipment, walking trails, a shaded pavilion, picnic tables with integrated game boards, and a seasonal sledding hill.

"Jackson Park is a great example of what we can achieve through collaboration,” says Mayor Lynn Dollin. "By working closely with our development partners, we’ve delivered a beautiful and inclusive space for residents to enjoy sooner, strengthening community well-being and local recreation opportunities."

The park is located within Lakehaven, a residential development delivered through Parkbridge, an operating platform of QuadReal Property Group, and Mattamy Homes. In 2025, the Town entered into an agreement with Parkbridge to accelerate the park’s construction, allowing it to open earlier than originally planned. Through this collaboration, the developer funded the park’s design and worked alongside the Town to advance construction timelines.

Jackson Park reflects the Town’s New Development Parks Program, guided by the Town’s Land & Lake Master Plan. The program supports the planning and delivery of parks and green spaces alongside community growth, while establishing priorities for amenities, locations, and timelines.

As both a community hub and a tribute to Brian Jackson’s contributions, Jackson Park offers a welcoming space for families, neighbours, and visitors to gather and enjoy for years to come. Learn more about the park at innisfil.ca/JacksonPark.
