The Town of Innisfil is delighted to host the Toronto East General Hospital’s Rural Winter Retreat in partnership with the Rural Ontario Medical Program (ROMP) on February 3, 2012. An outstanding and exciting program is being developed. The event will be held at Innisfil Town Hall, 2101 Innisfil Beach Road, L9S 1A1.
Program Overview:
Residents from the Toronto East General Hospital (TEGH) will attend two speaker sessions offered by local physicians. In the afternoon, they will observe simulated rescue activities organized by local emergency response teams.
Program Objectives:
- Connect with local health care professionals to learn about their medical experiences in a rural setting, as well as different opportunities in Innisfil.
- Gain first-hand knowledge from the mock emergency scenarios and being first on scene to see what the police, fire and paramedic services do before the patient arrives in the Emergency Department.
- Provide an opportunity for medical residents to interact with each other and build morale.
- Friendly reminder to participants: Please bring the appropriate winter gear for the outdoor activities planned for the afternoon.
