Permits that May NOT be Required
- Wooden decks with no roof, where the finished deck level is not greater than 0.6 meters above adjacent finished grade, not attached to a structure and no larger in area than 10m2 and not providing a primary exit.
- Open slot wood roof joist with no sheathing or roof covering placed on the narrow edge not closer than 12 inches on centre.
- Re-cladding with non-combustible material excluding brick or stone veneer. Please call for clarification.
- Re-Insulating or adding insulation. Please call for clarification.
- Window or door replacement providing the opening size is not altered.
- Repair or replacement of plumbing fixtures and /or appliances.
- Re-roofing using similar materials except where structural work is involved.
- Finished basements where there are no structural alterations, additional sleeping accommodations, proposed. Note all plumbing requires a permit.
- Minor repairs such as installation of chimney capsand repointing of brick work.
- Installation of counters, millwork and floor finishing.
- Emergency drain repair.
