TOWN HOSTS “INNISFIL ONLINE” WORKSHOP SERIES
Helping Local Businesses Maximize Online Tools for Business
Innisfil, ON (February 2, 2012) – The Town of Innisfil is pleased to be hosting “Innisfil Online,” a series of workshops directed at business owners, volunteers and residents who are interested in learning how to connect in the ever-changing online world. Being held on Monday, February 13, 2012 at Innisfil Town Hall, 2101 Innisfil Beach Road, Innisfil Online is the perfect opportunity for new and existing businesses to learn how to maximize the benefits of online tools- from email to Facebook. Social Media Strategist, Dean Bracko of Blab It Canada, and Bob Minhas, President of AlphaStarr Technical Solutions, will demonstrate that social media tools are not just valuable for connecting with friends and family, but also present opportunities for businesses to extend their reach.
The Inspiring Innisfil 2020 strategic plan identified a number of Town initiatives related to Economic Development. Hosting Innisfil Online helps to demonstrate the Town’s commitment to support local business and to foster a climate that can attract new business.
Monday, February 13, 2012 Workshop Schedule:
1:00 – 3pm: Professional Email Marketing and Etiquette
Bob Minhas, AlphaStarr Technical Solutions will discuss professional communication using email, as well as, important considerations when choosing an email address and service provider.
Cost: FREE
3:00 – 5:00: “10 Reasons to use Facebook”
Dean Bracko, Blab It Canada, will discuss the value of Facebook for businesses as well as practical tips on how to grow and maintain a Facebook presence.
“Connecting with Customers Online”
Scott Knack, Alcona Esso, will share his experience using Facebook and how it has helped his business.
Cost: FREE
6:00 – 8:00: Facebook Lab
Dean Bracko will provide step-by-step instructions for creating a Facebook Page for your business or organization in this hands-on workshop (normally valued at $300). Even if you already have a page, you can learn how to market and grow your page.
*Participants are asked to bring a laptop with capacity to connect to wireless internet.
Cost: $50.00 plus HST per person (A $10.00 donation per participant will be made to the Innisfil Food Bank)

- How Facebook can improve your Website page rank and Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
- Explore Facebook insights
- How to optimize your Facebook page
- Why and how to advertise on Facebook
- Why landing pages are important and tips for creating a landing page
- How to create a Facebook business strategy
