Welcome
In 2006 the Town began to develop a vision for a major urbanization of Innisfil Beach Road in Alcona from the 20th Sideroad to the Lake. The concept included the creation of a vibrant downtown corridor with a streetscape that would make walking along the main street an enjoyable experience for both residents and visitors.
Due to the amount of work and interruption involved in the undertaking of such a large scale project, the Town divided the development and construction of the road into 3 phases or ‘precincts’.
Precinct 1 - The ‘Western Precinct’ or ‘Gateway’, is the section from the 20th Sideroad to Jans Boulevard. This precinct is scheduled for construction in 2013.
Precincts 2A & 2B, the ‘Central Precinct’, is the section of road between Jans Boulevard to the 25th Sideroad. This area has been further divided into two sections:
Precinct 2A - The section between Jans Boulevard to St. John’s Sideroad. This section of road is scheduled for construction in spring of 2012, with utility relocates being completed in 2011.
Precinct 2B - From St. John’s Sideroad to the 25th Sideroad. The construction was substantially completed in 2010 with minor deficiencies completed in 2011.
Precinct 3 - The ‘Waterfront Precinct’ was completed in 2010 with some minor deficiencies completed in 2011.
