Schedule "B" Class Environmental Assessment Golf Haven Water Supply |
The Golf Haven Municipal Water Supply System, in the Community of Gilford, currently consists of two
wells, an in-ground reservoir, and a pump station, which combined are incapable of supplying sufficient
capacity for fire protection and domestic flows to the existing users. In addition, the concentration
of trihalomethanes (THMs) in the treated water has consistently exceeded the Ontario Drinking Water
Quality Standard Maximum Acceptable Concentration.
The Town of Innisfil has, therefore, retained the Ainley Group to conduct a Municipal Class
Environmental Assessment to identify and assess alternative options for providing a potable
water source that would be capable of meeting user demands and fire protection requirements
as well as water quality parameters that conform to the Ontario Drinking Water Legislation.
While the service area being considered is illustrated in the map below, the study area being
considered encompasses an area with the Alcona Water Storage Reservoir on the 8th Line of
Innisfil representing the northern boundary, the Bradford West Gwillimbury Water Storage
Reservoir near the 12th Line of Bradford West Gwillimbury representing the southern boundary,
the intersection of County Road No. 89 and Yonge Street (Fennels Corners) representing the
western boundary, and the shoreline of Lake Simcoe representing the eastern boundary.
